Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how INSANITY TECHNOLOGIES ("we", "us"), the provider of SchoolAlgo, collects, uses and protects personal data through our website, the SchoolAlgo web app and our mobile apps (the "Service").

1. Two kinds of data

a) Data schools put into SchoolAlgo ("School Data")

Information about students, parents, guardians, staff and drivers that a school enters, imports or uploads: for example names, contact details, class, attendance, fees and payments, marks and report cards, photos, documents, transport routes and bus locations. For School Data the school is the Data Fiduciary under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, and we process it on the school's behalf and on its instructions. Parents, students and staff who want to see, correct or delete their data should first contact their school; we help schools respond.

b) Data we collect for ourselves

• Account and contact details of the people who sign up, request a demo or contact us: name, school name, email, phone, city.
• Billing details: plan, invoices, the school's state and GSTIN, and payment references. Card, UPI and bank details are entered on Razorpay's secure page and are not seen or stored by us.
• Technical data: IP address, browser and device type, log-in times and error logs, used to keep the Service secure and working. Our apps may use a device's location only for the driver app's live bus tracking, and notification tokens to deliver alerts.

2. How we use data

• To provide, maintain, secure and support the Service.
• To create accounts, send log-in details, OTPs and service messages.
• To process payments, issue GST invoices and keep the records the law requires.
• To reply to enquiries and demo requests.
• To improve the Service using aggregated, non-identifying usage information.

We do not sell personal data, do not use School Data for advertising, and do not build profiles of children.

3. Who we share data with

Only with service providers that help us run the Service, under confidentiality obligations, and only as much as they need:

We may also disclose data when required by law or a valid order of a court or government authority.

4. Where data is kept and how it is protected

• Data is stored on servers located in India.
• Each school's data is kept separate from other schools' data.
• Connections are encrypted (HTTPS), passwords are stored only as secure hashes, and access is controlled by roles the school sets.
• We back up data every night and keep backups for a limited period.

No system is perfectly secure. If a breach affects personal data, we will inform the affected schools and the authorities as the law requires.

5. How long we keep data

School Data is kept while the school's account is active and for 90 days after it ends, then deleted. Billing records are kept for as long as tax and accounting laws require. Backups are overwritten on a rolling basis.

6. Cookies

We use only the cookies needed to keep you logged in and protect forms from misuse. We do not use advertising or third-party tracking cookies.

7. Your rights

Subject to the law, you may ask to access, correct or delete personal data we hold about you, withdraw consent, or nominate someone to act for you. For School Data, please contact your school first. For anything else, write to us at support@schoolalgo.com.

8. Grievance Officer

9. Changes

We may update this policy and will post the new version here with a new date. Important changes will also be notified to account holders.
